CLEVELAND, Ohio - Sunday’s rain broke Cleveland’s second-longest-running dry spell that concerned farmers, gardeners, and at-home growers.

The 1.78 inches of precipitation Sunday ended a streak of 21 straight dry days in Cleveland. Even with that downpour of rain in one day, however, Cleveland entered Monday just 0.41 above normal for the month, after falling well short of what is typical in May.
