COLUMBUS, Ohio — State lawyers have responded to a Friday lawsuit seeking to get the Ohio Supreme Court to block an Aug. 8 election asking voters to make it harder to change the state constitution.

In a Monday filing, State Attorney General Dave Yost asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit, saying Republican lawmakers did nothing illegal last week when they set the election.
