SAN FRANCISCO – Two Ohio ice cream shops have been ranked as having some of the most unique milkshakes in the United States, according to Yelp.

The two shops – one in Cleveland and one in Columbus - were named to Yelp’s 11 Most Outrageous Milkshakes list.

Addicted Coffee Bar in Lakewood, Ohio, was recognized for its Cookie Monster Craze milkshake.

“Addicted Coffee Bar’s Cookie Monster Craze is as blue as the Sesame Street star himself — thanks to a delectable base of blue moon ice cream (a Midwest favorite), blended with cookie dough and crushed Oreo cookies,” Yelp writes in its review. “It’s topped with a bouquet of cookies and cookie sandwiches, a drizzle of chocolate sauce and chocolate chips, and held together with a mound of whipped cream.”

Addicted Coffee Bar has sold more than 50,000 Cookie Monster Crazes since its opening in September 2017, according to Yelp. The milkshake typically feeds three to four people.

The shop has a 4/5 star rating based on 70 Yelp reviews, including 42 five-star ratings and nine four-star ratings. Located at 13743 Madison Ave. in Lakewood, Addicted Coffee Bar is open seven days a week. Store hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Libby Lou’s Fun Factory in Columbus was recognized for its Butterbeer Shake. The “Harry Potter”-themed milkshake was created by Libby Lou owner Tara Becker, who says she is a huge “Harry Potter” fan, according to Yelp.

“Dig into the 4-inch-high slice of cake atop the towering, “butterbeer”-flavored ice cream concoction, and the colored icing inside reveals your fate: red for Gryffindor, green for Slytherin, and well, you know the drill,” Yelp writes. “The Butterbeer Shake packs both flavor and ‘Harry Potter’ lore: A creamy mixture of butterscotch ice cream, vanilla ice cream, cream soda, and marshmallow rolled in salted caramel and caramel corn. It’s topped with Potter-esque treats: a chocolate frog, a chocolate wand, Gringotts bank coins, and Harry’s signature glasses.”

Libby Lou’s Fun Factory has a 4/5 star rating among 24 Yelp reviews, including 15 five-star reviews and two four-star reviews. The store is located at 3039 Indianola Ave. in Columbus and is open seven days a week, with summer hours from noon to 8 p.m. However, Libby Lou’s website says the best time to visit is from noon to 3 p.m., and the busiest time is 3:30-8 p.m.
